The Institute’s founder, Diana D. Parnell, MD, is a
board certified dermatologist with extensive experience and expertise in
cosmetic, laser and liposuction surgery. She
began her medical practice in Greenbrae, California in 1970 and has had
extensive laser experience since 1986. Dr.
Parnell earned her MD degree at the Georgetown University School of Medicine.
She is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the
University
of
California San Francisco
and a Fellow of the
American
Academy
of Dermatology. Because of Dr. Parnell’s extensive laser experience and
expertise, she is frequently called upon by various manufacturers of medical
equipment to train other physicians in the correct usage of lasers, including
laser facial resurfacing, and liposuction.
She is a member of the National Educational Faculty for Botox, which means that she is
certified by the manufacturer, Allergan, to train other physicians in the
administration of Botox® Cosmetic.
Dr. Parnell is also a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery,
American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery, San Francisco Dermatological
Society, Pacific Dermatologic Association, Marin Medical Society and the
California Medical Association. In
addition, she was elected to the Marin Healthcare District Board in 1992 on
which she has served for the last 12 years, 7 as Chair.
She and her husband Francis W. Parnell, MD have 5 children.
