Lightsheer Duet™ Laser
The Lightsheer Duet™ Laser is used for laser hair removal
The Lightsheer Duet laser is used to remove unwanted hair. It emits a beam of light that is absorbed by pigment within the hair follicle, which destroys the growing hair follicle. Multiple procedures are required and are usually performed between 4-6 weeks apart. The number of treatments required will depend not only on the hair color, but also on the thickness of hair, and the patient’s skin type and tolerance. More closely spaced treatments will enable one to achieve his/her goal earlier, but will require more treatments.
The Lightsheer Duet features a standard 9x9mm spot size to treat small areas of the body such as the upper lip. It also features a new, larger spot size (22x35mm) with vacuum-assist technology that allows larger areas of the body, such as legs and back, to be treated more quickly and with less pain than previously possible with the standard 9x9mm spot.
Sun exposure for 6 weeks prior to and after treatment must be avoided. Shaving a day or two prior to treatment is encouraged, but waxing and/or tweezing should be avoided for 6 weeks prior to treatment. White, grey, red or very light brown colored hair will not absorb the laser light and cannot be effectively treated with this modality.
You may schedule a free consultation with one of our nurses to see if you are a candidate for this procedure.
