Smoothbeam™ Laser

The Smoothbeam™ laser is one of the non-ablative resurfacing lasers. It is useful in treating acne, acne scarring, sebaceous nevi, sebaceous hyperplasia or thickening of the skin on the nose, and chin, as well as wrinkles. The Smoothbeam™ laser throws heat into the second layer of skin deceasing the size and activity of the over-active oil glands to improve acne, diminish sebaceous nevi, and sebaceous hyperplasia. It also stimulates the production of new collagen, which is useful in the treatment of depressed acne scars and wrinkles.

The Smoothbeam™ laser utilizes a coolant spray to minimize discomfort and injury to the top layer of skin (epidermis) during treatment. A topical anesthetic, applied one hour prior to treatment, can help to minimize discomfort.
