Vbeam™ Laser

Vbeam™ Laser used to treat vascular lesions (spider veins, angiomas, hemangiomas, port wine stains), scars, warts, acne, stretch marks and for facial rejuvenation

The Vbeam™ is the fourth pulsed dye laser that we have owned since 1990. Unlike the previous generations of this laser, the Vbeam™ has a cooling device and a longer pulse duration which allows us to effectively treat below the skin’s surface without bruising or injuring the top layer of skin. It targets redness and blood vessels by delivering a beam of light that is specifically absorbed by the red color of oxyhemoglobin in blood. The blood vessels are coagulated and then reabsorbed by the body. This laser is safe enough to be used in infants and young children with virtually no chance of scarring.

The Vbeam™ is effective in the treatment of warts. It works by diminishing the blood supply of the wart. It aids in the treatment of scars and keloids by decreasing redness and helping to soften and remodel the lesions. It helps stretch marks by decreasing redness and building new collagen. Likewise, for facial rejuvenation, it creates a more youthful appearance by increasing collagen and removing unattractive vessels on the skin surface.

The skin will appear pinker for approximately an hour after treatment. A small percentage of patients have some swelling of the cheeks several hours later which usually lasts only a couple of hours, but may persist for a few days especially when large areas of the cheeks are treated. Multiple treatments are usually required, depending on the extensiveness and layering of the blood vessels.
