The Titan™ laser is used to tighten skin and build collagen. It emits an infra-red light that heats the dermis well below the skin’s surface. The skin’s surface is protected by a cooling mechanism within the Titan hand piece. The deep dermal heating stimulates new collagen formation and tightens the skin. A topical anesthetic applied prior to treatment allows the procedure to be performed with minimal discomfort. Although a single treatment can produce good results, it is common for patients to have 2-3 treatments at monthly intervals. The results continue to improve for 6 months because of the time it takes to build new collagen. There is no downtime. Sunscreens are always recommended.
The Smoothbeam™ laser is used to treat acne, acne scarring, wrinkles, sebaceous nevi, and sebaceous hyperplasia or thickening of the skin on the nose and chin. It is one of the non-ablative resurfacing lasers. The Smoothbeam laser throws heat into the second layer of skin deceasing the size and activity of the over-active oil glands to improve acne, diminish sebaceous nevi, and sebaceous hyperplasia. It also stimulates the production of new collagen, which is useful in the treatment of depressed acne scars and wrinkles.
The Smoothbeam laser utilizes a coolant spray to minimize discomfort and injury to the top layer of skin (epidermis) during treatment. A topical anesthetic, applied one hour prior to treatment, minimizes discomfort.
